WJTL's Kids' Cookie Break wins PAB Award for
"Best Local Radio Program Designed for Kids"

May 23, 2006 - FM 90.3 WJTL's Kids Cookie Break has received a Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters "Award for Excellence in Broadcasting" for the second year in a row in the category, "Best Local Radio Program Designed for Children".
Kids' Cookie Break creator and host Lisa Landis accepted the award at a PAB luncheon May 22nd at the Hotel Hershey.
The KCB aims to entertain, educate and empower kids 14 and under with a music/talk format welcoming to listeners of all ages. The KCB plays positive music reflecting a Christian world view. The KCB airs LIVE every Saturday morning from 9 am-noon on FM 90.3 WJTL and the KCB airs 24/7 at kidscookiebreak.com.
The KCB plays favorites from artists like The Newsboys, Jump 5, Steven Courtney, Phredd, Bigsby, Sandtown, Brent Holmes, Uncle Stonehill, Jim Rule, TobyMac, Veggie Tales and more. The KCB also features cookie classics from artists like Amy Grant, The Lost Dogs, & DC Talk as well as world music from The Putumayo Kids Cd's.
The KCB is more than fun music. Take KCB "radio field trips" to places including The Constitution Center in Philadelphia for the Ben Franklin exhibit, family friendly stops with the KCB in Manhattan, The Dentist, Ken's Gardening Center, The National Watch and Clock Museum, and Drums etc. to learn hand drumming 101 with drum teacher Jere Groft.
Kids get to request songs, win prizes, talk on the radio and visit the KCB live on location at places like Hershey Chocolate World, Dutch Wonderland, Ski Roundtop, The Castle Roller Rink and more!
The KCB also features special themed shows like The Far Out Food Songs Show, The Name Game Show, The Wild Wild West Show, The KCB Beach Party, The KCB annual Joke Show, Spy Saturday and more. And coming this summer, a KCB original old fashioned radio drama, "The Adventures of Gwenda Gumshoe Girl Detective". |
